(A biographical sketch taken from One Hundred Years, The Delaware County National Bank Chester, PA 1814-1914)
William Davis (1825-34) was a
well-to-do farmer of Chester township, whose plantation faced on the east
side of Edgmont avenue, and of which St.
Michael's Cemetery was a part. During the later years of his life, he
was utterly helpless, due to chronic rheumatism. He died in 1837.
