Thomas Scattergood

Thomas Scattergood (March 24, 1881-1906), son of Joseph and Mary (McCollin) Scattergood, was born in Philadelphia, October 11, 1841. He was a trained, successful merchant and a manufacturer of dyewoods, chemicals, etc.; president of the Sharpless Dyewood Extract Company; director of the Provident Life and Trust Company, of Philadelphia; director of the Glen Iron Furnace Company; a member of the board of trustees of Bryn Mawr College, and the Friends' Asylum for the Insane, Frankford, Philadelphia, and other positions of trust and responsibility. Mr. Scattergood, after serving as a director for a quarter of a century, resigned March 30, 1906. He died in Philadelphia, April 18, 1907.
