Chester Arts Alive, a new organization dedicated to promoting arts and culture in Chester, announces the schedule for the Chester Arts Alive Holiday Family Festival, a nine-day series of events taking place at various locations throughout the city of Chester from Friday, December 10th through Saturday, December 18th. The festival features performances by local and regional artists, student concerts, family workshops, and special holiday events. Formed this summer, CHESTER ARTS ALIVE is dedicated to bringing visual and creative arts opportunities to Chester residents of all ages. The organization plans to promote existing programming, encourage new arts activity and nurture Chester artists. Chester Arts Alive will also bring together local and regional arts organizations in collaborations, such as the HOLIDAY FAMILY ARTS FESTIVAL. Events are open to all Chester families. Schedules and flyers with details of all activities can be picked up at the Freeman Cultural Arts Complex, 419 Edgmont Avenue, Chester, PA (across from Chester Post Office) or call 610-872-9570 for Tara Jones-Stephens and Delores Freeman, coordinators. |

Will be held at the Chester City Hall Community Room. Activities include presentations from the Delco. Blind Center Bell Ringers, Lighthouse Jazz Ensemble, the Majestic Flex Squad, and art exhibits by local artists. There will also be free drawings, food, refreshments and more. This event is FREE and open to the public, all are welcome. |

Chester Historical Preservation Committee.
The tour begins at the Friends Meeting House located at 24th & Chestnut Streets, Chester, PA, and ends at the Cheshire House in Upland with light refreshments. The recently published book “Chester, PA” will be featured as well as historical site ornaments of Chester. (tickets in advance $8 or $10 on day of tour – call 610-876-5355) |

Traveling Holiday Carolers to Senior Centers
Choirs, singers and any persons interested in spreading joy throughout the community in song are invited to join us at the Freeman Cultural Arts Complex (419 Edgmont Avenue) to visit the various Chester Senior Centers. Printed copies of carols & refreshments will be served. (Schedules are being coordinated for designated times, call 610-872-9570 if you or your members are interested in participating.) |

At 6pm the Universal Creative Arts Ensemble, an internationally acclaimed African dance troupe will give a special performance. This event is co-sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
