Chester Rural Cemetery: "Union Soldiers" Section

- US: Union Soldiers' Section -
This small section was originally used for the interment of Union Civil War soldiers who died during the war. It is likely, however, that these soldiers were removed along with the Confederate casualties on October 28, 1891 to Philadelphia Soldiers' National Cemetery. Others may have been removed by their families to be interred closer to home.
It has retained the "Union Soldiers' Section" name but is actually an extension of the adjacent "Single Grave" Section.
