George Hamby and I plan to have a reunion for the Chester Suburban Teen-er League teams of 1961 and 62. Each team won the State Championship and appeared in the Teen-er League World Series. The 61 team was the first county team to ever reach that series and finished third. The 62 team won the whole thing winning all four games by shutouts. I pitched for Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton about 1958. My catcher was a great hitter but I can't remember his name. I remember Stu Killen who played for Goodwin. I think Lew and Dave Krause played about the same time. I remember Ronnie Townsend who used to catch Lew at Chester High, I think he played Teener League, too. There was a pretty good pitcher named Ron Covage(?) who played around that time ( my catcher hit him like he owned him). Anybody know if he played in the Bigs? I remember the end of season awards banquet at the Polish American Club...Good memories from that time. Anybody out there remember any of this stuff?

Played '62 for Turk Long with Llyod AC Chester Central Little League - had eight hits including 2 doubles - lost a great coach that year. Rode bench for Llyod AC '63 & '64 - forgot how to hit took a collar for two years. '65 Bench Player and Scorekeeper extraordinaire for Snake Henderson with Baxter Post Teener League- still couldn't hit my weight but could run and field with the best of them. A fellow Bobcat from St. Robert's, Fran Fromholzer felt sorry and let me hit the ball. Steve Ryan (Widener standout)and Richie Wright were teammates and friends from the Llyod AC Little League.
