We started out on Friday, June 14th, at the Ramada Inn located in Essington, PA. As we have had for our past several reunions, we had a hospitality room during the afternoon hours (1:30 PM to 5:00 PM). Bob Logan, a member of the committee, arranged that part of the program. There was shrimp, several kinds of cheeses, pepperoni, chips, dips, crackers, vegetables and an open bar with a number of different kinds of drinks. A really nice affair. I am not sure how many of our people showed up for the hospitality room, but there were quite a few. 

We had a total of 112 people who signed up to attend and there were 8 no shows, so our actual attendance was 104. Of the 104 in attendance 65 were members of the class. That's not to bad for the 60th reunion. 

The evening started out with a welcome from class president Joe Kormarnicki. Dr. George Hewitt gave the invocation. George is the husband of Elsie Scarborough a member of the class. George was a 1939 CHS graduate. Following dinner there some remarks, introductions and then our featured speaker, Ed Gebhart. 

There were several highlights of the affair. I guess one of the biggest was visiting around the room renewing old friendships and doing a lot of talking and catching up on things since the last reunion five years ago. The other highlight was having Ed Gebhart, the Delaware County Daily Times columnist as a speaker. Everyone enjoyed his remarks. 

One of the ones who came from quite a distance was a class celebrity, Emil Matys. Emil and his brothers had a musical group called the Matys Brothers around Chester before ending up living in Elko, Nevada. Emil and his musical brothers group played at the same casino for many years until retiring. Emil brought along his saxophone and entertained us playing along with some of his CD's he brought along. Doris Journey Lawson also came from Santa Cruz, CA, a little further than Emil. We also had Herman Shooster there, up from Florida. Herman is the son of the original Shooster's drive-in at 9th and Flower Sts. 

On Saturday morning we had a brunch at the hotel and about 32 attended. We had a private room and a buffet style breakfast that was excellent. We also had some more time to reminisce old times. 

Everyone had a really great time both Friday and Saturday morning.

hi everyone just wanted to let people know dad is doing well. his heart stopped a couple of weeks ago and the puy a pacemaker in him. he is now home on hospice. his wife ann is also w/ me on hospice. she had end stage congestive heart failure. please free to email and i will forward it to them. thanks

I was wondering if any of you went to school with a John or Melvin st.clair. They lived in the Upper Chichester area my grandfather was Melvin but I am trying to figure out what might of happen to his brother John.
