Message wow what an experience caroline. i got boarded up once at the outer banks, when dennis came thru. we had one helluva big party. lasted from 11 am till 5 am longest uno game ever.we had a supply of everything. here in florida i have storm shield on the windows and drop awnings. havent had to use them yet but there is always a first time for everything. i guess i have to restock all my essentials. i ingest all stock so it dont go bad or evaporate. any way take care, good health and happy drinking in storms

MessagePete, stay safe, enjoy the refreshments. Do you board up? Years ago, we lived year round in Cape May, in 1985 Hurricane Gloria was heading our way on Sept 27th with 95mph
winds, widespread flooding. People came from PA/DE/NJ/NY to see the raging waters when they heard that we were to be hit. The State Police had to stop visitors from entering the city. We were told to board up our windows that face the water, and to move all furnishings into the center of the room. Taped the windows for fear of broken glass. Sand bagged the any door from the outside in to prevent water damage. It was a mandatory exodus from the area. Packed up the photos, old movies, important papers, the kids, dog and went to pick up my Mom who didn't want to leave her home at the shore.. what a trip. Finally packed in a huge English Sheep dog and Mom with the already packed car headed into Cape May to get a glimpse of the mad waters. They were beautiful. Yes, beautiful. The white caps looked as though they danced in the Sun. The streets were already flooding...in the Frog Pond area even on heavy rain days it would flood. I hope they corrected that over the years...After walking around and having packed the camera where we couldn't get to it, back to PA we headed. Only two major routes out of the Cape. The Garden State Parkway, or 47. what a haul. Got to PA finally, in the mean time the storm shifted and did not hit. So much for Gloria...The only other time we were in one was aboard the cruise ship Victoria going to Bermuda. When we were in Porto Rico they got all ship passengers off the Island and headed to the Virgin Islands I think. They had life lines setup around the ship and drills, and boy was I seasick. They had to follow me around with a bucket. I got seasick on the water beds in South of the Border, how I thought I could go on a cruise baffles me to this day. That was about 1964. Maybe we went because Mom won it at a raffle at St. Raymonds and gave it to
us.. a free trip.. Loads to write in my journal for my descendents.. My kid is leaving for LA tomorrow and is driving down...so Mom will be hoping he is smart enough to pack his camera and leave it where he can reach it. :) God keep you all safe...

MessageCaroline & Ed....Thank you for your Holiday greeting. Ed, I sure do remember those wonderful assemblies. Thanks for bringing back what was almost a lost memory. As far a age goes, I really don't think any classmate from CHS 54 is over 39!! Most of them that I am fortunate to see and talk to (aside from a few aches and paines) can stand right along side of their younger peers, and tackle anything. So....as you say, Happy old years and a Happy New Year to you both and classmates of CHS '54. PS....Caroline, ask Iris and Wanda who had to produce ID to get a senior discount to the aquarium on our class trip to Bermuda. ????
