Heard they might be closing SKD because of lack of funds . Maybe they should think about selling that mansion which houses one priest . With the price of utilities alone that would cover the cost of a few students tuition . Or maybe Regali and some of his croneis could donate some of their fine vestments for the good of the children , but then they would not have enough money to build those big church's and community centers in richer , whiter neighborhoods.

I went to Blessed Katherine after Immaculate Heart of Mary was shut down. It was a pretty good school, very warm atmosphere and great work. I am thinking about going back this year after school starts again but I don't think I'll see anyone that remembers me. I left before it became SKD. Yes, Pierre, you're absolutely correct - I have moved out of Chester; however, I believe my message does have meaning because, even though I moved from Chester, as you pointed out, I still belong to and support the Catholic Church in Chester! I did not leave with the "exodus", I just recently left the city, it was more of a financial move than a personal one! I believe that there is a big difference between leaving the city and leaving your church. People left the church and that is where my gripe is, no one could question anyone else's reasons for leaving the city. No one wanted to give St. Katharine Drexel Parish a chance, that was the great exodus that I originally referred to - just my opinion!!

Well, I'm really sorry that you feel so alienated! I also graduated from St. Roberts, and I initially felt the same way. You see, the problem was that so many people joined in the great exodus and left the city and the parish, and there was no one to support said parish! All of the Catholic schools in the city of Chester were closed, all six of them, and combined into one school. That happened about 10 years ago! So I am really sorry if you're one of the offended ones, but had people stuck around this may not have happened!
