Class Poem | Class Poem by Arlene Tyndall 9-2 We pupils entered Smedley, Three short years ago. Many filled with happiness, Many filled with woe. Not knowing what we’d have to face, We stepped into these walls. All of us then settled down, Within its study halls. We learned about democracy, And also right from wrong, We also learned that life was work And not all play and song. To some school may be just all work To others just something to do, To me it’s something priceless, And it should mean the same to you. Some think that school is just a grind, But in future years to come, Most of us will realize That school was always fun. We thought that some of the teachers were very mean, To make us study hard, To other students they might seem Just like a prison guard. But now as we’re departing, We have a heavy heart, Because too late we realize, We loved Smedley from the start. We’ll miss it during coming years, And wish that we were here. Then, my friends, we’ll realize, To our hearts it was always dear. |
