John A. Quigley

John A. Quigley

John A. Quigley
(A biographical sketch from a Chester Times or Delaware County Daily Times newspaper clipping, "Know Your Police" from the collection of John C. "Snakes" Boyle, contributed by his granddaughters, Jane Boyle & Patty Boyle.)

John A. Quigley will mark his 11th year on the police force in just five days.

Appointed on Feb. 15, 1943, he's been assigned to prowl car work most of the time. Born and raised in Chester, he attended both public and parochial schools here. Prior to joining the police force he was employed in textile work at Aberfoyle's.

He's married to the former Ella Whalen and they have one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Barlow, 22, who lives at the family home, 530 E. 11th st.

For hobbies he says he "just loves sports."
