Bart Spedden

Bart Spedden has been assigned to traffic duty since his appointment to the police force on Apr. 15, 1950.

Spedden, 30, served two years in the U.S. Navy, receiving a medical discharge in September, 1944. He received that discharge after spending six months in military hospitals for for shrapnel wounds of the head received in the invasion of North Africa while he was serving as a gunner on a Liberty ship.

He's married to the former Veronica Koterba and they have three children, Bart Jr., 9, and Larry, 7, both pupils at Larkin School and Ronald, 5. They live at 123 E.  4th st.

Prior to his appointment to the police force he worked for the Texas Oil Co. at Claymont, Del., for three years.

Educated in the Chester public schools, he has attended several police schools. Watching sports is his hobby.
