Charles C. Phillips, Jr.

Charles C. Phillips Jr., 84, of Upland died Saturday at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Born in Chester, he lived in Upland since 1917.

Prior to 1933, he worked as an electrician for Loughead Electric. He retired from Sun Oil in 1966 after 33 years in the Auto Research Laoratory.

He was a member of the Upland Baptist Church, the Parkside Senior Citizen's Club and the Sun Oil Sapphire Club.

He was active in the Upland Food Bank, and built models of boats, homes, and historical buildings.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Jackson Phillips; a son, Charles III, of Hatfield; three brothers, Elbert E. of Ft Lauderdale Fla, Homer B. of Upland, and Howard R. of Prospect Park; a sister, Margaret P. Barchock, of Norristown; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the George H. Brower Funeral Home, 1600 Edgmont Ave., Chester.

Burial will be in Chester Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday after 1 p. m. at the funeral home.
