Lee's Confectionery Store
14th & Edgmont Ave., c. 1947

"I lived next to the Lee's before they bought the candy store. We live in the same block as the barn [Southern Penn Bus Company Bus Barn]. Three two story duplexes, our back yards were bordered by the only part of the barn that was not destroyed.

The pictures of the fire and Lee's store are not accurate. It looks to me that the store picture was taken with the fire in the back ground. To do that the street would not be shown. True the store was across the street and it was the second from the cornor but there were no tracks running toward it.

I don't know what fire they were of but not the fire I remember. I may be wrong but it just doesn't look right.

James Crystle Lived in the end duplex and he too should remember Lee's if not the fire as he is younger than I."

Thanks to John Flanagan
