Text of Obituary: 

Robert W. Clayton Sr., 63, of the Essington section of Tinicum, a former Delaware County Daily Times Linotype machinist, died Dec. 7 at Taylor Hospital, Ridley Park.

Born in Chester, Mr. Clayton was a resident of Essington for 35 years.

For 17 years, he was a Linotype machinist for the Delaware County Daily Times until his retirement in 1976.

A Navy veteran of Korea, Mr. Clayton also served in the National Guard.

An avid sports fan and family man, he was a life member of Essington Fire Co. and a former member of the Moyamensing Fire Co. in Chester.

Mr. Clayton is survived by his widow, Dolores Arlene Brown Clayton; one daughter, Judith Clayton of California; two sons, David Edrey of Essington and Robert W. Clayton Jr. of Aston; one sister, Betty Simmons of Chester, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the endowment fund of St. John the Evangelist Church, 3rd St. and Wanamaker Ave., Essington, PA 19029.

Arrangements are by the Griffith Funeral Chapel of Norwood.

Notes: Mr. Clayton was born 9/11/1933.
