Text of Obituary: 

Robert W. Ford, 73, of Ocean City, Md., formerly of Media, died May 24 at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md.

Born and reared in Chester, he was the son of the late Walter and Pearl Robinson Ford and was graduated from Chester High School. A resident of Delaware County for most of his life, he lived in Media before moving to Ocean City 13 years ago.

Mr. Ford was employed by Philadelphia Electric Co. for 38 years and retired as a shift supervisor in 1984. A World War II Army veteran, he was a former member of the Felton Volunteer Fire Co. of Chester with which he served for 38 years. He also was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda Ford; two daughters, Sandra L. Ford of Ocean View, Del. and Denise K. Killen of Ocean City, Md. and a brother, Walter Ford of Trainer.

His funeral will be private. Arrangements are by the Hastings Funeral Home of Selbyville, Del.

Notes: Mr. Ford was born 7/12/1923.
