Holy City

View on W. 8th St.

Photo courtesy of Barbara (Usavage) Montello

Notes: It is believed that Holy City got its name because of the architecture of the houses.

Recollections: I enjoyed seeing the picture submitted by Barbara (Usavage) Montello. My paternal Grandparents, John and Eugenie Doyle, lived at 67 W. Eighth Street (Holy City) where they raised their 5 children (Charles, Thomas, Henry (my father), John, Jr. and Winifred.) John operated a grocery/butcher store at 2nd and Flower Sts. Eugenie was a teacher at Lincoln and Franklin Schools. Thanks, Helen (Doyle) Gallo
