John A. Bullock III was born December 6, 1950 in Chester, Pennsylvania.  He is the son of John A. Bullock, Jr. who owned and operated Bullock's Pharmacy at 720 Parker Street, in the shadows of Chester High School from 1932-1964, and Evelyn Keesey Bullock.  Through his mother, John is a descendant of the Crosby and Hinkson families and of John Morton, Pennsylvania Signer of the Declaration of Independence.  Through his father, he is also a descendant of the Ahn, Bullock, Broomall and Priest families of Delaware County, PA

Although John grew up in Wallingford, PA, he maintained connections to Chester through his part-time work at the Pharmacy, his membership at Madison Street Methodist Church, and time spent visiting his aunt and uncle, Ann Keesey Jeffries and Joseph H. Jeffries, Superintendents at Chester Rural Cemetery from 1930-1958.

John graduated from Nether Providence High School and received his B.A. degree from Greensboro College, Greensboro, NC.  He then taught for ten years in the public schools of Guilford County, NC.  He and his wife, the former Susan Harrison, now make their home in Reidsville, NC.

His recent interest in genealogy and his lesser known roots of the Bullock, Broomall and Keesey families led him to the study of the history of Delaware County and Chester and to the discovery of the history of Chester by John Hill Martin, Esq.  As the original printing was only 500 books, John felt that the work would be more useful to future researchers if fully indexed and more widely available.

John has also published and fully indexed Mr. Edward Nothnagle's Places and Faces of my Boyhood Days in Chester, Penna., written in May 1936.  He is also currently researching the history of Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA.
